Dr. Tibor R. Nagy

We’re delighted to introduce you to our Medical Director for Fire Engineering Training and The JEMS Academy, Dr. Nagy.
Tibor R. Nagy, DO is a board-certified Emergency Medicine and EMS physician. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Prisma Health–Upstate in Greenville, South Carolina, followed by an EMS fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. Nagy currently practices Emergency Medicine while serving in EMS leadership roles focused on medical oversight, protocol development, provider education, EMS/EM research, and quality improvement. His work centers on optimizing EMS system performance and advancing prehospital care through evidence-based practice and operational excellence. He has extensive experience in event and mass-gathering medicine, contributing to medical planning and on-site care for large-scale events, including collegiate and professional athletics. His academic and research interests include prehospital interventions, EMS system design, and the integration of data and emerging technologies into EMS practice.
With a strong commitment to global collaboration, Dr. Nagy has engaged with international EMS systems and physicians, including work in Brazil and mentorship of international EMS fellows. He is dedicated to advancing EMS through education, research, and leadership while building high-performing systems that support both EMS clinicians and patients.
