MARK VAN DER FEYST, a member of the Woodstock (Ont., Canada) Fire Department, began his career in the fire service in 1998 with the Cranberry Township (PA) Volunteer Fire Company. He then joined the Mississauga (Can.) Fire & Emergency Services. He holds a master’s degree in safety, security, and emergency management through Eastern Kentucky University. He instructs in Canada, the United States.

This course will examine the different facets of operating on the incident scene, including the lead-up and pre-plan, during the incident and operations, and after fire service operations and containment. The company officer will be involved in all three areas – as a leader, manager, or under the supervision of another company officer. All positions will serve as vital components of the overall incident management system.
